June 20 to July 22, 2020 – The Time of Cancer

Summertime. And the living’ is easy.

Except when planetary curmudgeons are stirring the pot.

The time of Cancer begins with the summer solstice, the moment the Sun crosses from Gemini to Cancer. It marks a sharp energy shift. The Sun is literally stopping on its apparent path around the Earth, catching its breath and then, slowly beginning a U-turn. This is a sacred time. Take a quiet moment to reflect and set an intention.

This solstice is particularly powerful because a solar eclipse occurs just hours later. If you have planets or sensitive points at or near 0° of the cardinals (Cancer, Capricorn, Aries and Libra) the cosmic door is opening to let something new into your life. Look to events 19 years ago for a recurring theme.

The skies rock and roll leading up to the second Jupiter/Pluto meeting on the 30th. The Moon stirs up the pot with quick moving transits setting off a variety of emotional responses that pull people in many directions. Stay cool, calm and give yourself and others slack.

In the meantime, after a six-week retrograde journey ending on the 25th, Venus begins to move direct enabling you to put partnership and money issues into perspective.

Saturn re-enters Capricorn on July 1st, a final opportunity from now to mid-December to clean up old business about business and wrap up loose ends. The July 4th full moon eclipse (or early July 5th depending on your time zone) on America’s birthday will undoubtedly trigger developments on the national stage.

Closer to home, demands regarding family and work responsibilities come to a head. Many are recurring issues. When you pick your fights keep in mind that not everything is worth fighting for. But it’s hard to tell when emotions are ratcheted high. With Mars and Chiron in Aries tied into this configuration trigger fingers are itchy.  Because it feels up close and personal.
