No man (or woman) is an island and it really does take a village…

The Sun’s annual visit through Aquarius is a reminder that we need our friends, our networks, our community to survive and thrive. We celebrate when times are good and struggle together when they are not. But like everything else, networks need to be watered and cultivated.

Aquarius is an air sign—it functions within the realm of mental activity. Aquarians tend to be dispassionate, observing things objectively. Hence many find themselves working in the sciences. Use the Aquarian energy to stand back from dramas playing out around you. Take stock of your environment and your place in it. The February 4th new moon tied to Mercury enables you to connect dots. And the three-day period from the 4th through the 6th is particularly good for negotiating, communication, sales activities, and new starts.

When Venus moves into Capricorn on the 3rd and Mars into Taurus on the 14th, you ground your inspiration. When it comes to your dealings with others, even significant others, it’s time to get down to business. But Mercury keeps the romance going when it enters Pisces on the 10th. That’s because when Mercury moves through Pisces, it fuels daydreams. Don’t knock it—daydreams refresh the soul and fuel your creativity. That effect is multiplied when the Sun moves there on the 18th.

Watch for the 13th. That’s when Mars meets Uranus. The lightbulb goes off and you come up with a solution to resolve an issue from last year’s hot summer.

Financial matters come to the fore during the third week of the month as Venus dances with Saturn on the 18th then Pluto on the 22nd. Read the fine print on contracts and keep a sharp eye on expenditures.

As the month comes to a close, consult your brain but listen to your gut.
