A friend said she’d noticed the days were getting shorter and I said, hex on you, no! LOL I haven’t finished having my summer, yet! But, alas, it’s true. Summer is coming to a close and the one thing that’s great about it are the wonderful fall fashions. It’s probably the most exciting time of year and this season is no exception. From leathers (faux for us) to bright jewel tones; lingerie-inspired to folkloric, with its velvets, embroidery and patchwork, fall fashion trends 2014 promises to offer a rich palette of texture, color and imagery I can’t wait to share! Here are some pieces I’ve found and love.
Fitting right into the folkloric trend for fall, these beautiful crocheted collars are designed and made by SomethingSpecialCCK. Each is hand made and custom, and there are several colors to choose from. I love the complimenting jeweled closure. This is such a lovely look on its own, with a round neck sweater or even over a coat to complete an outfit. Love, love!
OK, if this kitty isn’t ready for her close-up, I don’t know who is! A throwback 60’s/early 70’s hot trend of the moment, this RockinDogsCoolCats design is definitely rocking my world. Love the geometric, bright, jewel-toned fabric and the cute (and matching) chenille fringe trim. Made from a cozy corduroy, lined with…yes, you heard it…lime green fleece. Groovy, baby!
I love the colors BubaDog, a Belgrade, Serbia company, chose for this sweater, one of several great styles they make. This hand knit beauty is 100% cotton, so it’s eco-friendly, comfortable and hand-washable. The generous ribbed collar gives this warm-looking design a finished look, and buttons all the way down the chest and belly are a nice touch.
Ending with the most amazing piece, incorporating several trends – leather (faux), patches and shine (trendy every season). This faux fabulous leather harness vest, from MissMuffinsCloset, features pyramid studs at the neck and waist, with a row of sparkling rhinestones in the center. It’s lined in black cotton, and the tres cool Route 66 patch is trimmed in rhinestones. Even the D ring is rhinestone encrusted. A velcro closure at the neck and chest makes it easy on, easy off. Motorcycle and hot stud not included. 🙂
